Crater of Diamonds campgrounds.

Our campground has 59 campsites, all with water and electric hookups. A dump station is located at the entrance to the campground area. Two bathhouses with showers and restrooms as well as a laundry facility are available in the campgrounds also.

  • Discounts: The following discounts apply only to the regular rates, and not the winter rates.

    Camping discounts of one-half the regular rate are available to Arkansas citizens 62 years of age or older, for Sunday through Thursday nights; a 25% discount applies on weekends and holiday weekends. Out-of-state U.S. citizens age 62 and over receive a 25% camping discount Sunday through Thursday nights, but no discount on weekends or holiday weekends. Proof of age is required.

    U.S. citizens who are permanently and totally and/or 100 per cent disabled may receive a camping discount of one-half the regular rate. Written proof of disability determination is required. Items accepted as verification include:

    1. A letter from the Veteran's Administration
    2. An Arkansas license plate beginning with the letters DV
    3. A letter from your personal physician
    4. Railroad Retirement, or Civil Service dated within the last two years stating "100% disabled" or "permanently and totally disabled"

    Camping reservations are accepted 12 months in advance of your intended stay. Reservations require a a two-night minimum stay on Friday and Saturday nights, and a three-night minimum stay when a holiday causes a three-day weekend. All reservations require payment of a non-refundable reservation fee of one night's camping fee at the time the reservation is made. Payment by credit card is required. Reservations are accepted by phone or in person from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Diamond Springs Water Playground

    Diamond Springs Water Playground

    A 14,700 sq. ft. mining-themed aquatic playground opened at the park in the summer of Summer 2004. The facility features a 4,166 sq. ft. wading pool with spray geysers, sprayers, water jets, animated waterspouts, cascades, two water slides and waterfall hideaways along with a spacious deck and pool furniture.

    The Water Playground is open May 26 through August 19: Daily from noon to 6:00 p.m. and, August 25 through September 3 Saturday and Sunday only. The water park will only be open from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Labor Day. Admission to this facility will be $5.50 for persons 42 inches or more in height; $3.75 for persons less than 42 inches in height. Children under age 2 are admitted free, limited to 3 children per paying adult. A 20-admissions special pass costs $83.00. Children ages 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.

    The water playground may be rented for private pool parties after normal closing hours (no rental after dark). The park will furnish lifeguards. Minimum rental will be one hour. Rates will vary according to size of the party. For a group, the charge will be $80.00 for the first hour for up to 20 persons, with each additional hour costing $35.00/hours. For more than 20 persons, a fee of $3.50/person will be charged.

    • We offer a standard screened-in pavilion with restrooms for rental. This pavilion is available throughout the year.
    • Rental fees are as follows: $80.00 plus tax per day - 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    • $45.00 plus tax per "use period" - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    • $20.00 plus tax per hour
    • $25.00 clean-up deposit is also required.
    • An additional fee of $20.00 will be required for groups of over 50 persons.

    Pets are allowed at all facilities with the exception of the Diamond Springs Water Park and Kimberlite Cafe', as long as they remain on a leash under the owner's control at all times.

    The park office and interpretive exhibits are located in the Visitor Center.


    Gift Shop

    The Crater of Diamonds gift shop is located in the Visitor Center and offers a wide selection of items including souvenir caps, t-shirts, mugs, pins, patches and spoons. You'll also find an assortment of gem and mineral field guides, diamond-hunting tools, cut and polished rocks and minerals, and novelty items. Drinks and snacks are available in the gift shop. Bagged ice and firewood are also available at the Visitor Center.

    Kimberlite Cafe

    Open seven days a week from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and only on weekends during the last two weeks of the season. The restaurant offers a breakfast and lunch menu including sandwiches and hamburgers, along with hand-scooped ice cream. Drinks and snacks are available in vending machines and at the gift shop.

    Wildlife Observation Blind

    One of the newest park offerings is a wildlife observation blind. A gravel walkway leads visitors through a secluded woodland setting to this blind offering a perfect vantage point to view and photograph deer, turkey, squirrels, a variety of birds and other wildlife in their natural setting. The parking lot just inside the park entrance is adjacent to the observation blind's walkway.

    The park accepts cash, personal checks and the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Credit cards may be used at any facility in the park. The nearest ATM machine is in Murfreesboro, which is 2 miles away.
